Price Canyon Ranch is located 7.5 miles into the Chiricahua mountains at an elevation of 5,600 feet, offering four moderate seasons for your pleasure. A seclusion that allows guests to leave their lifestyles behind and where you are encouraged to become part of the day-to-day life, which means helping with the chores, rounding up cattle or riding with the wrangler to look for strays. You can even join the ranch crew when they pack salt and protein to the cattle high in the mountains. The 120-year old ranch is rich in beautiful natural rock formations, wildlife and Indian lore. Cochise and his band of Apaches are said to have hidden in these mountains. Legend has it that Victorio the cousin of Cochise hid in the mountains and obtained water for his tribe from the very spring that still supplies the ranch. They knew where the spring was located, but the US Army couldn't find it, allowing the Indians to stay hidden in the secret ancient cave complex. Take a ride to these ancient Indian caves, the old mines or to the natural spring and imagine what it must have been like to be here over 120 years ago in an untamed land.

In the late seventeenth century, the fertile Altar valley was settled by Spanish Jesuits. Father Eusebio Francisco Kino and his followers, built a mission outpost on the Ranch. Still standing, this rare historic adobe structure is reputed to be the second oldest building in Arizona. Today it serves as a peaceful gathering place for our guests to mingle and relax. Rancho de la Osa, or Ranch of the "She Bear," is one of the last great Spanish Haciendas still standing in America. During the Mexican Revolution, Pancho Villa was said to have fired shots at the Hacienda. When you stay with us, you can hold a Mexican cannonball found in the stucco walls of the Hacienda dining room. Typically, the sun shines more than 300 days a year. At night, in our Zocalo, the stars twinkle and shine with unmatched clarity from a coal black sky. Located in the high Sonoran Desert along the Mexican border, we are one hour from Tucson. We border the Buenos Aires National Wildlife refuge, where you can watch deer and antelope still roaming in herds. Nestled among huge eucalyptus trees, the gracious lifestyle of the Old Southwest is captured and treasured in the 1800's Hacienda. This elegant building welcomes each guest with a warm and inviting ambience. Furnished with Mexican antiques the Hacienda is a gentle reminder of the fascinating history of this magnificent old Spanish land grant.

Our home is a place of recreation, relaxation and retreat, where friendships are formed and a lifetime of memories are made. Because the ranch is smaller (we have no more than seven guest families at a time), you will find our lifestyle is a bit more flexible and carefree. When you arrive, put your wallet and watch away... you won't need them. It's easy to get here - we're only 100 miles from Denver International Airport - Yet we're hidden in the heart of the Rocky Mountains... far from the noise and stress of modern life. The days are warm and filled with sunshine while the nights are perfect for sleeping under a warm comforter. After a day in the clear mountain air, you'll never get a better night's rest anywhere

Conveniently located just one hour from Denver in the Colorado foothills near Rocky Mountain National Park and Estes Park, Sylvan Dale's 3000-acre Dude Ranch and Retreat Center is nestled along the banks of Colorado's beautiful Big Thompson River.
Named "Best Family Vacation" by Frommer's Colorado guidebook and rated among the "top ten Colorado Dude Ranches" by True West Magazine, we offer year 'round outdoor adventure including summer vacations, bed & breakfast stays, business meetings, conferences and retreats, group events and picnics, weddings, family reunions, and hunting and fly-fishing packages.
We are an historic working horse and cattle ranch where guests go on cattle drives and cattle roundups, overnight pack trips, take horseback riding lessons and play "Gymkhana" games on horseback. So c'mon and saddle up, discover your "inner cowboy," and experience the old-fashioned family hospitality and cowboy culture of the historic American West.

Tumbling River is one of the finest guest ranches in the Rockies. We have a 60 year tradition of giving guests what they expect and deserve of a Colorado guest ranch: Superb Location: nestled in a secluded valley high in the heart of the Rockies; miles from a highway yet easy to reach from Denver; at 9200 feet surrounded by 14,000' mountains & millions of acres of national forest; within riding distance of the Continental Divide; surrounded by cascading streams, abundant big game, wildflowers & aspen. Find horses with extraordinary secluded trails; vehicle trips to long abandoned gold and silver mines as well as to seldom seen ghost towns; raft trips; overnight pack trips; a great variety of trout fishing in streams, ranch ponds and high mountain lakes; hiking, climbing, rock hounding, swimming, and a terrific program for kids; evening activities including square dancing, hayrides and campfires. Complete comfort assured with fireplaces and private baths in your rooms; accommodations available in either a variety of cabins or in two historic old ranch houses; daily maid service; heated pool, sauna, game rooms, lounge, trading post and beautiful streams and ponds just outside of your room and the home-cooked meals are superlative. The ranch is our home so you will truly be our guest here; the warm, informal atmosphere has become a tradition and you can wear your jeans day or night. About a dozen families are here during the typical summer week and we think this is just right for our guests -- enough to assure that there's plenty going on and that you'll be able to meet other interesting folks, but not so many that you'll feel lost. While we could fill up lots more cabins, we've no plans to enlarge. There truly is something for everyone here at Tumbling River, but it all revolves around personal service and hospitality. You have our promise that we will do everything possible to make your vacation one of the best ever. We sincerely hope that you will be able to join us one day soon.

You might call us a dude ranch, luxury ranch, working ranch, skiing ranch or a western ranch resort. We'll answer to all of those as you plan your Colorado ranch vacation. Just don't call us late for dinner here at Vista Verde. When the evenings get a bit cooler and the rivers run a little lower, the aspens start to gear up for a fall color extravaganza and the elk move back in. As these magical, natural events begin to happen, another magical event happens at Vista Verde - the ranch turns into an adult only playground. Just think, the kids are all back in school! You won't be bothered by phones ringing off the hook. The only traffic jam you'll run into is when the horses are being moved from one pasture to the next, and the biggest decision you'll have to make for a the day is whether you want to fish, horseback ride or go for a scenic hike. The entire month of September and the early weeks of June are devoted to adults and adults only. Whether you are escaping from a hectic job, a busy city life, a multitude of demands on your personal life, or all of the above, you will find Vista Verde to be a genuine hideaway. Spend your time relaxing in the comforts of a private log cabin or a plush room in the lodge. Adorned with handmade beds, cushy down comforters, antiques and western art, your accommodations are just the start of the luxuries you will encounter while staying at Vista Verde.
